YouTube... (possibly triggering)

So recently the Youtube vlogging community has been a bit of a shambles really. It’s now a case of which YouTuber to trust really isn’t it?

First it was Alex Day and being accused of sexually abusing someone, this one I was a bit late to hearing about I over had someone at my college talking about it and then got home a searched it to know more about it. I unsubscribed to his channel and unfollowed on social media.

Then the next one that I knew about was Jason Veeoneeye. At first I didn’t know what to think about this one because I looked up to Jason watched his videos when I was having a down day he made me smile, so when I heard this one I was in utter shock and didn't want to believe it at first. But after reading on twitter and the master post* I came to terms with it and unsubscribed to him and unfollowed on social media.

Sam Pepper. Need I say anymore? His trio of videos that he made claiming that it was a ‘social experiment’ and the people had fully consented to it. What a load of bull. I’m sorry but what he did was wrong and after the first video came out I had unsubscribe straight away. Then when the accusations came out I unfollowed on social media. I then saw Dottie’s video** about Sam Pepper and what had happened to her and I was shocked. Not that he had done it but he had lied to her about her leading him on by lying.

Karim, again like Jason I liked his videos, the few that he had put up, and I was shocked to hear about this accusation. Again I didn’t want to believe but I did. Then Dodie had made a video*** that he had been sexual towards her and didn’t stop when she asked. That was it I had unsubscribed and unfollowed. Again I was in utter shock that something like that had happened to Dodie and that the person didn’t stop when asked on multiple occasions to stop.

Lukes Beans. When I was that DanIvlog had uploaded a video**** I watched it what out reading the title and was shocked when I heard what was happening. At this point I wasn’t shocked it was becoming a common occurrence to hear about a youtuber sexually assaulting someone. I just followed the same pattern as I had with the other ones.

Craig Dillon. With this one I didn’t believe to the beginning, I watched his video first before I heard the accusations. As I was watching his video I was scrolling through my subscription on youtube and saw drewisnotsharing***** and uploaded a video I watched this instead of finishing Craig’s video. I again took the same cause of action.

Sexual abuse of any sort is not okay. If a person at first says yes then a few moments later says no, you no longer have their consent so STOP. If you don’t even have their consent to begin with don’t even do anything!
The youtubers are using their authority that they have over their subscribers and using it wrongly. The people that have had accusations against them if it is true should not be supported by their subscribers anymore, you are in a sense forgiving them for sexually assaulting someone. That is not right.

I wasn’t going to make a blog post about this. But I have done I needed to get my opinion across. Everything mentioned above is linked below for you to go and have a look at.
